2022 World Cup in Qatar not in winter due to the Winter Olympics

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will not take place in January or February out of respect for the Winter Olympics. This is what FIFA Chairman Blatter said recently. He also stated that he was positive about the actions that Qatar has taken regarding the working conditions of workers.

The interview was also attended by the director of the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Sheikh Mohammed. According to him, government agencies and business are busy improving the conditions and rights of workers at the World Cup stadiums in Qatar.

Seph Blatter spoke on behalf of FIFA with the highest political authorities to complete his mission of three points to fulfill. The first point is to confirm that the 2022 World Cup will be played in Qatar. There is no doubt that the decision that was taken on December 2, 2010 will be reversed. The second point is about the temperature in the summer in Qatar. There is much discussion about the possible relocation of the World Cup because of the extreme heat. According to the organization, Qatar is willing and able to organize the World Football Championship in June or July, using air conditioning in the football stadiums. Of course it is better to keep the 2022 World Cup at a different time of the year. FIFA will discuss with various parties which date is best for the opening match. The third point of Blatter concerns the problems in Qatar with working conditions.
